Is your favorite beach in Monmouth County?

County leaders are hoping you'll cast a vote for one of the county's 23 beaches in a statewide best beaches survey at NJTopTenBeaches.org. The deadline is April 30.

“We would love to see several Monmouth County beaches appear on the 2014 New Jersey Top Ten Beaches list,” Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone said.

Twenty-three Monmouth County beaches are on the ballot and eligible for voting in 2014, in categories such as  family vacation, day trips and ecotourism.

Here are our beaches: Allenhurst, Asbury Park, Avon-by-the-Sea, Belmar, Bradley Beach, Cliffwood Beach, Deal, Elberon, Highlands, Keansburg, Loch Arbour, Long Branch, Manasquan, Middletown, Monmouth Beach, Ocean Grove, Port Monmouth, Sandy Hook, Sea Bright, Sea Girt, Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park, Spring Lake and Union Beach.

The winner will be announced at a special summer kickoff on May 22 at McLoone’s Asbury Grille in Asbury Park. There are no prizes — just plaques and bragging rights, which can be meaningful to the tourist industry. The contest is organized by the New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium.
