The Branchport Avenue Bridge which connects Long Branch and Oceanport will be close in April as it undergoes repairs.
The county’s Department of Public Works and Engineering is overseeing the project, which will includes repairs to the existing bridge deck. Miscellaneous deck, sidewalk and curb spall repairs and the construction of a latex modified concrete overlay on existing bridge deck will be included in the project.
This Branchport Avenue project is expected to be substantially complete by Memorial Day weekend, a release from the county states.
In the area of the bridge, the roadway will be closed to vehicular traffic, but open to pedestrian traffic.
The project is part of a $2,114,109 roadwork contract which also includes the rehabilitation of Newman Springs Road Bridge in Tinton Falls.
The state’s Annual Transportation Trust Fund is providing the funding for the project.
