Long Branch's Annual Celtic Tribute 5K Set For Saturday

Long Branch run will benefit fallen police officers

Remembering those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect their communities does not go unnoticed in Long Branch.

The memory of fallen Long Branch Police officers Ptl. Herman Emmons, Ptl. William Richards and Sgt. Patrick King will be preserved on Saturday, March 30 at the 22nd annual Celtic 5K Run.

The Jersey Shore Running Club hosts the run which takes place on the Long Branch promenade and Great Lawn.

The 5K race is sponsored by Long Branch PBA No. 10 with proceeds benefiting the PBA Local 10 Scholarship Fund in Memory of our Fallen Officers. The scholarships are given to deserving Long Branch High School graduates.

Amenities include T‑shirts to participants and everyone will enjoy post-race refreshments while awaiting the awards ceremony, raffles and grand prize drawing.

The 5K Run will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the children's age group races at approximately 11:45am.

Post-Registration will take place the day of the race beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Great Lawn.
