Residents of Tinton Falls will be out in full force this weekend for the borough's annual Community Day.

The community event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 3-7 p.m. at the Recreation Complex on Sycamore Avenue next to Mahala F. Atchison School.

Community Day will feature free food, shows and activities.

Some of the activities will include a dunk tank, mechanical bull, fun bus, obstacle course and a giant slide.

There will also be a petting zoo, helicopter landing, a K-9 show by the Tinton Falls Police and music by Mad Man Moon.

The food will be provided by a number of local establishments including Applebees and Moose's Tavern.

Mayor Michael Skudera said the event is expected to draw around 4,000 people this year.

"Each year we strive to improve this exciting borough-wide event and make it better than the last," Skudera said. "This year, the Community Day Planning Committee, led by Councilman Chris Pak has raised a record amount in donations from the local business community. Through the generous support of these private donations and active participation by the vendors, volunteers, and staff members, Community Day continues to remain a free event to the residents of our great community."
