A Garden Full of Daisies

The Tinton Falls Daisy Troop 22 spent Sunday planting flowers at the Crawford House as a community service project.

The garden at Tinton Falls' historic Crawford House was filled with daisies on Sunday and they're not even in bloom yet.

Tinton Falls Daisy Girl Scout Troop 22 spent Sunday morning planting a garden at the 19th century landmark, according to troop leader Stacey Jones, as part of their community service project for the year.

The troop members, who are all in kindergarten, planted perennials and annuals purchased with troop money raised through cookie sales, which they donated to help beautify the Crawford House site. The troop spent the morning composting, watering and mulching the area for the season and added two garden stones and some seeds to germinate in the garden, Jones said.

In addition to helping the community, the girls earned the second piece of their flower garden journey patch for doing this project, said Jones.
