Affordable Housing Alliance and GRID Alternatives To Lead an All-Women Solar Installation with Green City Force Job Trainees in Eatontown on May 22
GRID Alternatives, the nation’s largest non-profit solar installer, is leading a group of young women enrolled in Green City Force’s Clean Energy Corps to install solar on an affordable home in the Affordable Housing Alliance's Pine Tree COmmunity, in Eatontown, from 10a.m. to 3 p.m. The project is part of GRID Alternatives’ National Women in Solar Initiative, launched earlier this year in partnership with SunEdison to bring more women into the solar industry and support their professional growth. The Green City Force Corps Members, residents of New York City public housing between the ages of 18 and 24, will be getting hands-on solar installation experience that will help prepare them for jobs in this rapidly growing sector. The installation is also sponsored by Wells Fargo, through its long-standing partnership with both GRID Alternatives and Affordable Housing Alliance.
