Tinton Falls Motocross Hearing Continues Thursday Night

The hearing will be held at Seabrook Village at 7:30 p.m.

By Christopher Sheldon

The proposal to build a motocross track in Tinton Falls will continue on Thursday night.

The Tinton Falls Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Seabrook Village, 3000 Essex Road, Tinton Falls.

The meeting has been moved there because Seabrook's auditorium can hold a larger crowd than the Tinton Falls Courtroom.

The track would be located behind Mazza & Sons Demolition and Recycling with one road, Mazza Boulevard, leading in and out of the facility.

The project, which would cover 21 acres, also includes the construction of a 3,200-square-foot registration and pro shop building and a 2,400-square-foot maintenance building.

The facility would operate year-round, 6 days a week except Mondays and would be open from 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

The facility would also feature parking for about 500 vehicles and several 100-foot-high, stadium-style lights for the nighttime tracks.

Jersey Shore Motocross needs the board to grant it a use variance as the land is currently zoned for light industrial use.
