Republican incumbents to be challenged by Democratic hopefuls
Monday's filing deadline for two seats on the West Long Branch Council sees the two Republican incumbents seeking re-election, and they face two Democratic challengers. The primary deadline was yesterday. Independents can still file for municipal candidacy with the county clerk. Here are the candidates: Republican Party Democratic Party
Republicans Kevin Gonzalez and Richard Robinson file to run for election this year
Eatontown Council Democratic incumbents Jennifer Piazza and Meir Araman will be challenged by two Republicans who are looking to claim their seats on the dais this November. Republicans Kevin Gonzalez and newcomer Richard Robinson will be looking to join the Eatontown Council this fall. Gonzalez finished third in the voting for two seats on the Eatontown Council last November, and was not reelected. Candidates who wished to run in this year's election had to file with the Eatontown Borough Clerk by Monday.

OUTSIDE MANCHESTER, NH -- Hillary Clinton is the heavy favorite among New Hampshire Democrats for the 2016 New Hampshire Primary, while no one in the Republican field has yet to separate from the pack. Yes, it's still three years before the 2016 Primary, but a WMUR/University of New Hampshire Survey Center poll released Thursday night shows that Clinton is the prohibitive favorite among Granite State Democrats. Freeholders Curley and DiMaso defeat challengers William Shea and Kevin Lavan; incumbent French best Steinhorn in county clerk bid.
The Monmouth County Republicans will retain a 5-0 majority on the Board of Chosen Freeholders. With 99 percent of districts reporting, Freeholder Director John Curley and Freeholder Serena DiMaso led their Democratic opponents William Shea and Kevin Lavan by over 25,000 votes, according to unofficial results from the Monmouth County Board of Elections. "We are gathered here tonight to make sure that what you have entrusted in us remains and creates the greatest county in the state of New Jersey," Curley said during Monmouth County Republican Committee’s election party at South Gate Manor in Freehold Tuesday night. Democrats win two council seats
Incumbent Democratic Councilman Anthony Talerico and running mate Janice Kroposky have won two seats on the Eatontown Council, according to preliminary results in Monmouth County. The votes in nine voting districts in Eatontown have been tallied and Kroposky and Councilman Talerico have defeated incumbent Republican Councilman Kevin Gonzalez and his running mate Edmund Fitterer. Talerico received the most votes with 2,682 and Kroposky received 2,543. Gonzalez garnered 1,865 votes and Fitterer got 1,701 votes. These totals do not include mail-in votes.
