Is anyone going up aginst him?

The last thing the GOP wants is the undoing of Wade vs Roe. They would loose a lot of money andRead Morethe ir main issue.
District 4 Coalition for Change April 08, 2014 at 11:38 AM
We wish that were true, Lou. Unfortunately, their are extremists and fanatics that have takenRead Morecontr ol of the Congress and they not only would like to abolish a women's right to choose, and have nearly succeeded but they are going after all forms of Birth Control including the Pill. Our Congressman has lead the attack on Roe as the Chair of the Congressional Anti Choice Caucus and has referred to the Birth Control Pill as "Baby Pesticide." Smith has gone as far as redefining rape (His bill HR3). The purpose redefining rape is to make it harder for women that were impregnated by their attacker to seek a safe and legal abortion. That legislation was shot down in a public outcry due to it's extreme nature but if it were up to our Congressman, that would be the law. His single mindedness in overturning Roe has impacted his legislation and common sense. Changing the language of Rape to Forcible Rape, endangers women and empowers rapists. It's reckless and cruel toward women. Smith's colleague in his anti -choice crusade, Paul Ryan, was quoted that rape is a form of conception and life is life. For people that value a women's right to control the destiny of her life and body, this Congressional Race is very important. Most folks do not understand that Local Government is Government and voting for a Congressman that shares your values is how your voice is heard in this country. It is our last chance to save Roe.

I wonder if she would say the same thing about Gun Control. That in fact, education does reduceRead Moreacci dents, so why dont we have firearm safety in our schools anymore ???
District 4 Coalition for Change March 26, 2014 at 09:18 AM
We don't have firearm safety because Congress is not willing to pass basic, common sense gunRead Morereforms such as required gun training, etc. Our Congressman, Chris Smith will not discuss Universal Background Checks on a National Level, even though we already have them in place in NJ. He was endorsed by the Brady Campaign years ago but has remained silent since Newtown because he is pandering to his colleagues and his pledge to the gun lobby. It's really disgusting. BTW, it's not gun control. It is gun reform. Most gun safety advocates are not trying to control or take peoples guns. They simply want safety measures in place to reduce the epidemic of gun violence. Almost 60 School Shooting since Newtown and some states (Idaho, Georgia) and soon Indiana are actually loosening laws to allow criminals to acquire guns and allow teens with guns on campus. Criminals with guns and drunk frats with guns - that makes a lot of sense.

There are so many things that are not "Common Sense" as you would say. The epidemic thatRead Morey ou speak of is a social epidemic that needs fixing. Guns have been around for hundreds of years, but people's morals and values have changed. And please, lets talk about new Jersey's draconian laws that are so outdated and poorly written. And with the democratic led onslaught that severely lack common sense. I would be more then happy to have that debate with you. And isn't it amazing that with all of these states issuing more and more CCW license's, crime has been steadily going down. Yet here in the Great Peoples republic of New Jermany, we are kept as sheeple just waiting to be slaughtered with no way of protecting ourselves outside of the home. Hell, I would carry a slingshot with me if I could, but that is illegal here, and if I was caught would be a class 2 felony, equal to that of a sex offender...

The re-definition of Rape is part of preventing abortions for sure. It is extreme, cruel,Read Moredangerous and IS Sharia Law. We are one step away from treating our women and girls the same way as the most primitive societies in the world, due to religious ideology, which is what makes those countries primitive in the first place. The redefinition of rape gives a green light to perpetrators to harm women and girls. It is going too far for issue advocacy on abortion. This is not a theocracy and people with specific religious point of views, although it is their right, have no right to force their will on women that have been victims. Forcing women to carry, raise, or put up for adoption the children from violence upon them based on your religious views is unspeakably cruel! Where is the empathy? Freedom of religion is freedom for all people's religions not just some. We have to learn to respect one another and live together in compromise. Subjecting a young victim of rape to a life that they did not choose is vile, wrong and goes too far.

Glad I didn't mention religion in my post. It is not about religion it is about killing human life. Read MoreThe only religions I know of that do that are Satanic, or some other ancient religion (like Mayan) that thankfully is no longer practiced. Oh, yeah I forgot, communist governments too. So let's drop the religion bit. Lets give government the green light to lock up perpetrators permanently.
