I just went to Pier Village today....most of the stores are open.
Still closed are, Michael Angelo's, Rocky Mountain Chocolate, Stewarts and the restaurants directly on the beach. Sawa is open, as well as Greek To Me and Shaka.
Please, Please, Please go to Pier Village and support the local retailers to make the Sandy recovery an easier task!

I find that eminent domain doesn't receive as much credit as it should for the positive things that have been accomplished through its use. Without it, Long Branch would still be one of the armpits of the Jersey Shore. The revenues/taxes that Long Branch has benefited from will significantly improve the school system and other areas in desperate need in the area. The houses that eminent domain seized were almost condemnable and say what you will, from Beachfront North to Pier Village, has become a staging ground for revenue generating events, fundraising events and family outings. I do agree, however, the homeowners were NOT offered enough for their dwellings/land as they should have been, but in no way, shape or form can you tell me the area hasn't prospered from the redevelopment.

Does that mean ocean ave is passable for traffic? My normal commute takes me all the way through Long branch, Monmouth Beach, and Sea Bright. Sea Bright is planning to open ocean ave to public traffic on Wed. Trying to see if LB and Monmouth Beach are going to be open to traffic too.
