Eatontown Recreation had its annual Fishing Derby this past Saturday, June 2 at Wampum Park Pond.
With registration starting at 8 a.m., Eatontown Recreation had a turnout of over 50 youth participants.
Many catfish, blue gills, and bass, along with two snapping turtles were caught and released by children and their parents.
The Award Ceremony started at 10:30 a.m. and prizes were given to First Fish Caught, Biggest Fish, and Most Unique Fish. The Most Unique Fish caught was an eel.
Every child walked away with a prize of either a trophy, fishing pole, or filled tackle box. This event, sponsored by the Recreation Advisory Committee, had sunny weather and blue skies.
