Most Long Branch-Eatontown Area Residents Now Have Power

Tinton Falls only town with over 100 outages in area

A few days after residents in the Long Branch-Eatontown area were dealing with thousands of power outages, as of Sunday morning, most have had their electricity returned to them.

Long Branch has six outages, Eatontown has less than five and West Long Branch has none, according to Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L).

Tinton Falls still has 244 people without power, but Mayor Michael Skudera said it could be fully restored by the end of the day.

All schools in the area are slated to reopen to their full schedules on Monday morning, after being closed for two weeks because of Hurricane Sandy.

Sports have resumed, children are trick or treating in Eatontown today and most residents can celebrate Veterans Day in a warm home.

Jay, if I were you I'd keep reporting to JCP&L's outage reporting line at: 1-888-544-4877. I had to do that when JCP&L automated service called me 2 days after the storm saying their records show that my power was restored, when it wasn't! Otherwise, maybe you are one of those 6 known outages in LB as stated above in the article? Good luck.

A power crew from Georgia restored our power and a Verizon tech from Maryland did the phone/internet. Thank God for the wide network of technical people from other states who came to the rescue. Also, there are Mississippi State Troopers in the Oceanport area patrolling and directing traffic. Great guys who said it was a payback for all the help we sent after Katrina.

I want to thank all these men and women who have come from so many other states to hekp New Jersey and New York. I think we are doing better than NY with getting our power back. I had Ohio and Virginia in my area and I tryed yesterday to give them some water and candy, but they said No Thank you! so it goes to show they are here for the right reason. Thank you again to all these States that are here!

Saw some Maryland State Police officers having breakfast in Long Branch Saturday morning. All business; they ate very quickly. Wish I had the chance to buy 'em some coffee. Thank you, gentlemen - come back in the summer when things are nicer, and bring your families.
