Long Branch Ushering In Second Half of School Year With Children's Concert

Concert will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5

 

Long Branch School District students just returned to school this week and to celebrate the second half of the school year, a concert will be held this weekend.

The annual Children's Concert "Sounds Around Us" will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5 at the Long Branch High School Auditorium at 2 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature peformances from the Long Branch High School Dance Team, Soundwave Jazz Band, lb (pound) Percussion Ensemble, The Long Branch High School Chorus, The Long Branch High School Symphonic Band, solo pianists and artwork from the students of the Long Branch High School Visual Arts School.

It is presented by the Long Branch High School Visual & Performing Arts Academy.

It's so uplifting to see children getting involved in the Performing Arts. There recently was something on PBS on NOVA (I think) about the brain and how music is quite helpful in developing the brain. Congratulations to all the children for their participation.
