Long Branch Police Report Increase in Car Burglaries

Incidents have been occurring in the Elberon and West End sections of the city

The Long Branch Police are reporting that a series of car burglaries have occurred throughout the city over the last few days.

Long Branch Police Capt. Jason Roebuck said most of the car burglaries have been in the West End and Elberon areas of the city.

"The majority of these burglaries have been to unlocked vehicles or vehicles with valuable property left in plain sight," Capt. Roebuck said in a release. "When the valuables have been left in plain sight the windows have been broken out."

The Long Branch Police continue to remind residents to lock their car doors and keep their valuables hidden or to remove them from their vehicle.

Any suspicious activity should be reported to the police at 732-222-1000.
