Local Schools Reopen Today

Most schools have been closed since Oct. 29

After being closed for two weeks, all local schools will be open today.

The Long Branch School District actually reopened on Friday, Nov. 9, but it was only a half day for students.

Shore Regional High School, the West Long Branch School District and the Eatontown School District have been closed since Oct. 29, because of Hurricane Sandy's impact on the area.

Shore Regional and West Long Branch will temporarily house Monmouth Beach Elementary School students after the school was damaged by the hurricane. Wolfe Hill School in Oceanport will also be a temporary home to Monmouth Beach Elementary School students.

Monmouth Beach Pre K-kindergarten students will stay at Wolfe Hill School, grades 1, 2 and 3 will go to Betty McElmon Elementary School, grade 4 will go to Frank Antonides School and grades 5-8 will go to Shore Regional.
