Letter: Thanks to All Who Voted in Fire District Elections

The author was elected to serve as a fire commission in Tinton Falls' District 2.

We'd like to thank everyone who took the time to vote in this year's fire district elections in Tinton Falls! We had the highest voter turnout in years!

In the north end, when the votes were tallied, our budget passed by 85 votes and me, Tim Anderson, and Jeff Stratton were elected to the three fire commissioner spots.

In the south end, as of late last night, the outcome was not clear since they have to wait on 55 absentee ballots whose results won't be known until Tuesday. As of last night, two people were tied for the lead for the two 3-year terms, another was just three votes behind, and the fourth candidate was 17 votes back, so anything can happen when the absentees are tallied.  Congratulations to Colleen Connolly for winning the unexpired 2-year term in District 1!

Thank you again!
