Several cars reportedly stuck in flood waters

 

Monday afternoon's storm is causing flooding throughout Long Branch.

Several cars are reportedly getting stuck in flood waters as rain continues to pound the city.

There is a vehicle stuck in the water on Spring Street, according to emergency communications, and Long Branch Police Capt. Jason Roebuck said there are about six vehicles flooded at Long Branch City Hall.

Capt. Roebuck said one of the vehicles is a police car and others are city employees' cars.

There are reports of flooding on Ocean Avenue, Westwood Avenue, Atlantic Avenue and Long Branch Avenue.

As of 1:45 p.m., the rain appeared to lessening, but motorists planning to drive throughout the city should use caution.
