Eatontown Police Det. Lawrence Tyler said two black male subjects entered the store and approached the clerk. One of the subjects, who was carrying a drawstring-type bag, pulled a handgun out of the bag and threatened the clerk with it.

"The second subject ran around the counter and using a knife which he took from the top of the counter in the store, he poked the clerk in the chest with the knife," Det. Tyler said. "The two subjects threatened the clerk to hand over the cash from the store."

Det. Tyler said the suspects took cash from the clerk, placed duct tape over his mouth and bound his hands and feet with tape and an electrical cord, and fled the store.

The clerk, whose name was not released, was able to free himself after the subjects left the store and he activated a panic button notifying police of the robbery. Det. Tyler said the clerk did not require medical attention.

Det. Tyler said police believe the subjects who committed yesterday's robbery are the same ones who robbed Aaron's Gold Store on June 18.

"The description of the subjects is the same," Det. Tyler said. "Two black males with thin builds."

The clerk from Atlantic Gold Buyers said he believes the suspects are in their 40’s or 50’s.

Det. Tyler said one subject was wearing a long sleeve button down green shirt and a baseball cap, and the other was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with a baseball cap and also had a black mustache.
