Ranney School’s Academic Team qualified for a 2011 National Academic Quiz Championship Tournament after competing in the BATE Tournament at Bloomfield High School earlier this spring. Ranney’s “Quiz Kids,” along with 200 other teams from across the country, traveled to Atlanta, Georgia over Memorial Day weekend to compete in the three-day NAQT-sponsored national championship. Although the Academic Team just missed qualifying for the playoffs, team member Roey J. Hadar ’13 ranked number two among all sophomores across the nation, and was named to the State of New Jersey’s First Team — the only underclassman in the state to make the squad. Roey also finished a top-scoring individual competitor at the BATE Tournament in March.
